Access to Apparatus Rules


All Territory Generation staff and contractors must be appropriately authorised to work on plant and equipment at Ron Goodin Power Station under our under our Access to Apparatus Rules (AAR). For permit requirements on other Territory Generation sites, please visit our Permit to work page.

The AAR outlines the requirements for safe access to plant and equipment at Ron Goodin Power Station (RGPS), including confined space entry and hot work procedures. These rules must be followed at all times.

AAR training and authorisation

If you are a contractor, you must complete AAR online training to obtain the appropriate level of authorisation to work at RGPS. Your Territory Generation site contact person will advise you which training you need to apply for.

How to apply for AAR training

  1. Complete the AAR Training Request form.
  2. Send the form to your Territory Generation site contact person for review and endorsement.
  3. If training is not required, you will be notified by email.
  4. If endorsed, your request will be sent to the RGPS Station Manager for approval.
  5. If declined, you will be notified via email.
  6. If approved, the Learning and Development team will process your request.
  7. You will receive an email invitation to complete the online training.
  8. Once completed, your authorisations will be recorded in our training management system.

Notes:

  • AAR online training covers access procedures only. You must also hold current qualifications for any specialised work (e.g. confined space entry).
  • All training costs are the responsibility of the contractor.
