Territory Generation is pleased to announce the appointment of Gerhard Laubscher to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
Chairman Dennis Bree said Mr Laubscher’s career spans 23 years in management and advisory roles across the electricity, renewables and mining industries including most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Cape Byron Power.
“We conducted a rigorous recruitment process to find the right leader to deliver the safe, reliable and cost-efficient operation of Territory Generation’s plant and business.
“Gerhard is an exceptional fit for the role.
“He has extensive experience in all areas of operations and in managing complex assets for largeglobal companies across a variety of industries.
“I am confident that Gerhard will lead the organisation to be the Territory’s trusted and respected energy services business,” Mr Bree said.
Mr Laubscher will join Territory Generation under a four-year contract from 27 April.
Territory Generation Board Director Richard Galton will be Acting Chief Executive Officer in the interim period from 28 March until Mr Laubscher’s commencement.
Mr Bree acknowledged the work of Territory Generation’s current Acting Chief Executive Officer, David Brown, who has been with the organisation since December 2019.
“David has worked diligently over the past months to drive Territory Generation’s operational and business focus following the 13 October 2019 Alice Springs system black.
“Territory Generation will continue to work with government and other key stakeholders to ensure the continued reliable supply of power to all Northern Territory regions including Alice Springs,” Mr Bree said.
